Keeravani literally means voice (vani) of a parrot ((keera /Sanskrit, chilaka /Telugu). In this movie Anweshana (means exploration), the heroine Bhanupriya, does research on interpretations of bird sounds/voices in a forest where the entire movie (and this song, of course) is picturized :) Keeravani is also the 21st melakarta ragam in Carnatic music. Aarohana (ascending notes): S R2 G2 M1 P D1 N3 S Avarohana (descending notes) : S N3 D1 P M1 G2 R2 S Set in this beautiful ragam, this song is one of the most brilliant compositions of the maestro, surely one of the shining feathers in his hat. The classic beauty of the opening of this song with overlapping swarams and aalaaps, the wonderfully romantic lyrics and a perfect point in the lyrics where the entry of the female voice is made … I simply love the whole setting :) This is my first collaboration with Raj Kumar Anjan, one of the most talented singers I came across. Despite his unfamiliarity with the language, Raj has done a tremendous job in terms of diction, expressions and singing @Raj, Thank you for giving me the opportunity to sing this gem with you. I am certainly honored ! Please listen at your convenience and leave your feedback. Thank you :) | Title: KeeravaaNi Film: Anweshana Music:Maestro Ilayaraja Original Singer(s): SPB & S.Janaki Sung By: Raj Kumar Anjan & Sarada Bhagavatula |
