Shruthi Neevu Gathi Neevu

The period since the mid 70s, Telugu film music rose to new heights when legends like film director K.Vishwanath and music director K.V.Mahadevan worked together. This dream team created a rich musical treasure in Telugu that stood the test of time. In many ways, the film Shankarabharanam marked the new renaissance in Telugu film music and became the new barometer to measure good music. K.Vishwanath is well known for turning into gold whatever he touches. He brings out the best talents in artists by his relentless hard work and grace. He has keen sense for music and demonstrated that through all his films. K.V.Mahadevan a musical Mahatma himself, in collaboration with K.Vishwanath is bound to create magic. This song from the film, Swatikiranam, is a product of one such collaborations where Vani Jayaram and K.S.Chitra vocalized splendidly. The song also has extremely wonderful lyrics penned by Dr.C.Narayana Reddy, another legendary figure in his own right in Telugu literature.
I am extremely honored to join Latha to sing this song. She did a magical job in singing Vani Jayaram’s lines sounding truly like a 12 year old in this. Thank you Latha :)
Some background on picturization:
In the movie, there is a 12 year old boy (master Manjunath) that goes and lives with a great music pandit (Mammutty) to serve him and his wife (Radhika) and to learn music in the process. The boy is a gifted child prodigy and here in this song, he composes a song and coaches his guru’s wife who is also musically knowledgeable. The guru’s wife( playback by K.S.Chitra) is completely mesmerized with the boy’s (playback by Vani Jayaram) talent. The song is sung praising the Godess of Sangeetam and Sahityam (music and literature), Saraswathi.
Please take a listen and enjoy. Also thanks so much for listening.
